A highly dynamic and thrilling project that I had the pleasure to lead from start to finish, including conceptualizing the ideas, developing the visual identity, designing the activations, and overseeing the spatial layout.
The task was to design a pavilion that embodies the spirit and vision of the Nordic countries for Expo Osaka 2025.
This project was created with an exceptionally skilled team at Imagination.

GUEST JOURNEY
The graphic language aligns with the given color palette and incorporates the existing foundational concept. It extends the visual identity, symbolizing a cohesive journey into the future.
While each country follows its unique path…
In a choreography of unity, the intertwining of past, present, and future forms a collective and lucid vision which brings the subject to focus.
The combination and unification of the bold colors is also representative of the coming together of the 5 Nordic countries and the sharpness of the focus created by the collaboration.
EXTERIOR FACADE
Working with the existing structure our ambition is to subtly showcase the Nordics through lighting and relief graphics and signage.
To preserve the natural beauty of the pavilion and its materials, we will illuminate the space from the inside, creating the soft glow of an evolving lights-cape which will amplify as day turns into night.
QUEUE
THE PATH OF UNITY
To celebrate the unique collaboration, a ‘Path of Unity’ is a painted graphic ribbon designed by feature artist from each of the participating Countries.
Painted with vibrant colours by Nordic artists, it will guide visitors to the main entrance and celebrate the rich culture of the region, creating fantastic, shareable moments along its course.
WELCOME EXPERIENCE
FUTURE IN FOCUS
Guests entering the pavilion will be immersed by a corridor of moving light and shadow that collectively reveal the vision of The Nordics and the countries it comprises.
As visitors move through the corridor, moving lights bring the vision message into focus. The closer you get, the more you see.
FEATURE EXPERIENCE
UNIFIED NORDIC LENS
The Feature Experience will be the pavilion's highlight, immersing visitors in sensory content and audioscapes that showcase the Nordic region's future vision.
A seamless projection surface will tell the story of Nordic ambition and collaboration. At the center, an artistic installation will present key information, creating a dramatic, shareable moment.
The experience ends with a 360-degree celebration of the Northern Lights, symbolizing hope and future possibilities for the Nordic countries.
Feature Experience
At the heart of the theatre is The Nordic Lens feature. This is designed to subtlety reference the five Countries and act as a visual representation of the aligned vision of the future.
CROSSOVER CANVAS
Communicate Nordic stories that have a parallel in Japanese culture, creating shared understanding and shareable and memorable moments.
These common stories are ‘mirrored’ in a unique visual composition which is a great moment for a photo and shared story on social media.
